As the summer continues, officials with the American Red Cross said the organization is currently experiencing an emergency blood shortage. Donors are needed immediately to help replenish the blood supply and stop the risk to lifesaving patient care.

Those who come to give blood July 13 through 31 will receive a Fandago Movie Ticket by email.

Upcoming opportunities to donate include giving at the Modesto American Red Cross location, 1900 W. Orangeburg Ave., Modesto, open various days and times, along with two community drives.

An Oakdale drive is scheduled at the Bianchi Community Center at 110 S. Second Ave., on Tuesday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a Waterford drive scheduled on Friday, July 10 at the Community Bible Church, 14143 Yosemite Boulevard, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
