Youth Basketball Clinics
Sign-ups are going on now for two Wednesdays in July, which will feature youth summer basketball skills clinics, designed for incoming fourth through sixth grade boys and girls in the Escalon Unified School District. Clinics are scheduled for July 22 and 29; participants can attend one or both.
The clinics are put on through Escalon Elite and the cost is $30 in advance, $35 the day of the clinic if space is still available. Sessions are limited to 30 players per session. Hours for the clinic on both July 22 and July 29 are 10 a.m. to noon and the skills clinics will be hosted in the new gym at Escalon High School.

Park Fete Run
Later this month, it’s the annual Escalon Park Fete Run, and the 2026 event is being hosted by Escalon FIT, set for Saturday, July 25. The race will leave from in front of El Portal Middle School at 805 First St., Escalon, with a start time of 7:30 a.m. for the 10k run; 7:45 a.m. for the 5k. This race is a chip timed event.
Registration fees are $50 per person. The race day schedule includes check-in and any race day registrations starting at 6:30 a.m., with the first race taking off an hour later, at 7:30 a.m. Runners of all ages and abilities are encouraged to register and be part of this Escalon Park Fete tradition. Escalon FIT is also offering its Youth Athletic Training, focusing on speed, strength, agility and confidence. The program runs through July 16 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Age groups and times are: ages 8 to 11, 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.; ages 12-plus, 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Escalon FIT is at 1740 Main St., downtown Escalon. Cost per week is $49.
