Garrit A. Teunissen, 87, of Oakdale died Wednesday, Feb. 2 at Oak Valley Hospital.

A native of Maryland, he lived in Oakdale for 60 years. Prior to moving to Oakdale he resided in Manteca, where he owned and operated a dairy. He was a World War II veteran. He enjoyed barbecuing for family and friends in Manteca and Oakdale.

He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Teunissen of Oakdale; siblings, Ted Teunissen of Lathrop, Marty Teunissen of Pioneer, Julie Hedegard of Manteca; grandchildren, Daymond Garrit Dutra and Jacob Joseph Dutra, both of Oakdale.

Mass was said Monday, Feb. 7 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Escalon. Visitation was held. Burial at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
