‘Barn’ opening slated May 30
opening

After months of renovation and preparation, The Barn in Escalon will have its official grand opening on Saturday, May 30.

Being operated by the Joe and Martha Coelho family, the familiar barn at 930 Yosemite Avenue, just across the railroad tracks on Highway 120 on the west end of the city, will open for business with the Saturday hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The venue will feature fresh produce, jams, jellies, honey, olive oil, pickled items, sourdough bread, drinks, popcorn and more. An olive oil tasting is scheduled and they plan to have a taco truck on site for the grand opening. There will also be fresh flowers and lavender available and a children’s corner will have stuffed animals and children’s books for sale as well.

They will also have a coloring station for kids to enjoy while they are there.

The Barn was one of the first five local businesses to receive some funding through the City of Escalon’s small business grant program, awarded $18,000 earlier this year to assist with various expenses that were included in the ‘Scope of Project’ approved by the city’s Economic Development Committee that reviewed the project and by the full City Council.

As outlined in the business proposal, the Barn “will carry a thoughtfully curated selection of locally sourced and artisan goods, celebrating the agricultural heritage of the Central Valley.”
