May Calendar Filling Up For Quilt Guild
Quilters

The Oakdale Quilters’ Guild has more than doubled in membership since January and has a new meeting place. The meetings will now be at Community United Methodist Church at 1480 Poplar, Oakdale, in the Johnson Social Hall. Their classes and sew days will remain at Blossom Quilting, River Road Plaza, Oakdale. They welcome and encourage quilters of all experience levels.

May is shaping up to be a very busy month for members.

The guild will have a boutique at the Burchell Hill yard sales in Oakdale on Saturday, May 6. The sales from boutiques help them continue their philanthropic efforts in the community and education for members of the guild. Members will be set up at North Maag Avenue and Esther Way in Oakdale on May 6 with quilts, fabric bundles and other gifts for sale just in time to shop for Mother’s Day.

The May meeting will be on Thursday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the new location of Community United Methodist Church, 1480 Poplar St.

The May class will be a workshop with a sewing challenge. It will be held at Blossom Quilting, 7450 River Road, Suite 4 in Oakdale on Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, details about the challenge or to sign up, call Jessica Gookin at 209-345-3357 or email oakdalequiltersguild@gmail.com. More information is also available at www.facebook.com/oakdalequiltersguild.

The Oakdale Quilters’ Guild is a non-profit group organized for charitable and educational purposes. Members currently make quilts and other handmade items for Quilts of Honor, Oak Valley Hospital Care Center, Guardian House, Cancer Center, Olivia’s Closet.

The quilters meet regularly on the second Thursday of each month; guests are welcome to join them for a visit.
