Any middle school student in San Joaquin County can audition for the San Joaquin County Middle School Honor Choir on Tuesdays in October at locations throughout the county. The choir is the result of a partnership with the San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE), the San Joaquin County Music Educators’ Association (SJCMEA), and the San Joaquin Delta College Music Department. Any sixth- through eighth-grader can audition at any of the seven auditions. The audition piece is “America (My Country ’tis of Thee).”

The 2017-18 Middle School Honor Choir will perform at the annual Honors Concert featuring the county’s most gifted and talented middle school band, choir, and orchestra students. The concert will be held on March 3, 2018, at the Delta Center for the Arts, Warren Atherton Auditorium, San Joaquin Delta College. It is free to join the choir.

All 2017-18 Middle School Honor Choir auditions are from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the following dates and locations:

Oct. 3: Linden High School, Room 60, 18527 E. Front St., Linden; and Sierra Middle School, Choir Room, 6776 Alexandria Place, Stockton.

Oct. 10: Bethany Elementary, Music Room 202, 570 Escuela Drive, Mountain House.

Oct. 17: Lathrop High School, Choir Room B10, 647 Spartan Way, Lathrop; Stella Brockman Elementary, Room 33, 763 Silverado Drive, Manteca; and Millswood Middle School, PAC, 233 N. Mills Ave., Lodi.

Oct. 24: San Joaquin County Office of Education, Greenwood 1, 2707 Transworld Drive, Stockton.
