March is known as the Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness Month. The leading causes of TBI are falls, motor vehicle traffic crashes, blunt force, assaults and other factors. TBI affects the health care provider, the individual, family and friends. The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) utilizes its awareness month to continue TBI awareness, research, treatment and to also improve the quality of life for all who are affected.
