After a nearly 16-month absence, the Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo is scheduled to return. The pandemic may have canceled the 2020 rodeo and delayed the annual event this year, but the PRCA and Oakdale Saddle Club have scheduled the event for Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 14 and 15.

Tickets for the event can be purchased through many local venues including: Oakdale Feed and Seed, Oakdale Cowboy Museum, Oakdale Chamber of Commerce, Bucksworth Western Wear and Conlin Supply.

The Oakdale Rodeo Dance is scheduled for Friday evening, Aug. 13 for those 21 and over. The event will feature “Weekend At Jimmy’s” performing from 7 p.m. to midnight. No advance tickets will be sold and it’s ten dollars to enter (cash only). The rodeo parade is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Aug. 14 along its normal route on the city’s main thoroughfare, F Street, starting at 9 a.m.

Rodeo action takes place both Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Barrel racing, bull riding, saddle bronc, team-roping and more all return to the Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo Grounds; competition times are 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15.

For more information on all of the events and ticket information contact the Saddle Club or follow them on social media at Oakdale Rodeo.
