Norman "Norm" Sanchez, 53, of Riverbank died at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto on Sunday, Dec. 5.
Born in Escalon, he had lived in Escalon for 51 years prior to moving to Riverbank two years ago. He owned and operated Norm Sanchez Trucking Company and previously was an almond farmer for himself. He enjoyed motorcycles, boating and fishing. He was a member of St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church and St. Vincent De Paul Society. He enjoyed coaching youth soccer and baseball in the Escalon area. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps.
He will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father and brother.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Caren Sanchez; mother, Mary Loumena of Escalon; children, Emily Sanchez, stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska with the Air Force, and Joshua Sanchez, Brady Sanchez and Meghan Sanchez, all of Riverbank; sister, Eileen Riesenbeck of Escalon and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Sanchez, in 1979.
Services are Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church, 2827 Topeka St., Riverbank. Vigil service was held previously. There was no visitation. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Escalon.
