It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John W. Griblin, Jr. John was born in Eureka, Kansas on July 28, 1945 and passed peacefully at home on August 1, 2021 after spending the day surrounded by family.
After graduating from Manteca High School, John enlisted in the Air Force, serving for four years including one tour in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge John enjoyed a long career at J-M Eagle prior to his retirement.
John was fiercely dedicated to raising his two granddaughters, Alicia and Lucy. He took great pride in their accomplishments, the accomplishments of his family, and in the successes of all that he met. After retiring from J-M Eagle he enjoyed daily walks and sitting on the front porch visiting with everyone who passed by.
John is survived by his wife Lynda, his children John and Sabrina, step-children John and Jennifer, daughters-in-law Mary Jane and Teresa, nine grandchildren, Jane, John, Jacob, Alicia, Lucy, Alexander, Macy, Katherine, and Melanie, and his two sisters Connie and Claudia. Preceding him in death were his brother Steve, mother Phyllis, father John Sr., and his stepfather Don.
It was John’s wish that we would have a celebration of life in the spring. To honor his memory John wanted donations sent to either the Escalon Food Bank or Hospice of San Joaquin.
