RUBY ELIZABETH PRINCE

Ruby Elizabeth Prince passed away at her home on August 18, 2026, around 11 a.m.
She was 92 years old. Surrounded by her loving family, she peacefully passed after a courageous battle with heart disease.
Ruby was born to Truman and Edna Crowe, on October 31, 1933, in Elk City, Oklahoma. Ruby’s family later moved west to California, settling in the small town of Escalon, California, where she spent her childhood. After living in Michigan for several years, Ruby and her family returned to Escalon in 1978. She worked retail for many years until she and her husband, Jerry Prince, purchased and ran the Escalon Diner. They later sold it before retiring together. A woman of strong faith, Ruby was a devout Christian and attended Trinity Church in Escalon. In her free time, she enjoyed connecting with old friends and family online through Facebook.
She is survived by her three loving sisters: Mary Greer (Raymond - deceased) of Melissa, Texas, Opal Faucett (Garry) of Escalon, and Connie Bashor (James) of Terre Haute, Indiana. She leaves behind three daughters: Kathaleen Baldonado (Gilbert) of Riverbank, Diana Van Vliet (Henry) of Modesto, and Tammy Hendren (Ron) of Turlock. She was also blessed with four stepdaughters from Michigan: Sue, Debbie, Terry, and Donna. She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother to 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She also had many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Ruby was preceded in death by Jerry Prince, her loving husband of 52 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents, as well as six of her siblings: Irene Patton, Clarence Patton, Thomas Patton, William Crowe, Ben Crowe, and Shirley Brisco.
Ruby will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, and all those who knew her.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 12, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church, 1900 California Street, Escalon.
