Marlene B. Callizo passed away peacefully July 23, 2026 at home with her family by her side. She was born December 9, 1941, to Tony and Bernice Lial and lived her entire life in Escalon. She attended Dent and Escalon High School.

In her early days she worked on the family ranch, Escalon Drug and then as a forklift driver in the canneries. She met the love of her life, Pete Callizo, and they were married October 5, 1963. They would have been celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary this year.

She is survived by her husband, Pete Callizo; her three children, Michael Callizo (Kim), Modesto, Tony Callizo (Dina), Escalon, and Marnice Hebard (Dave), Cave Creek, AZ. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, Blake Barber (Carah), Tustin, CA, Jake Callizo (Julia), New York, NY, Halee Callizo, Dallas, TX, Nathan Hall, San Luis Obispo, CA, Brett Hall, Scottsdale, AZ, and Pete Callizo, Modesto, CA and great granddaughter Olivia Barber. Also survived by her sister Janice Gookin (Tom) and brother-in-law, Mike Callizo.

Marlene was a loving wife, mother, grandma, sister and friend and she will be greatly missed by us all. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Escalon Historical Society at 1630 Main St., Escalon, CA 95320 or Escalon Community Ambulance at 1480 Ullery Ave., Escalon, CA 95320.
