James Earl Davis, Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 21, 2018 at his home in Escalon, California at the age 51 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Jim was born on September 27, 1966 in Oakland, CA to Jim and Becky Davis. After serving in the US Army from 1985 to 1988 he settled in Escalon and has been a resident here ever since.

Jim has been the Senior Pastor of Trinity Church Assembly of God in Escalon for the past eight years. He also served as the chaplain for the Escalon Fire Department. Most recently, Jim’s passion was to remodel and transform the Escalon Youth Center and was able to see his vision come to life before he passed. Jim was an amazing husband, father and man of God that will be deeply missed.

Jim leaves behind his parents and his wife of 27 years, Brenda Davis, his children, Cara Woodworth (Marcus), Courtney Davis, Hanna Smith-Davis, Americis Smith-Davis and Christopher Davis, his siblings, Clara Ann Rivera, John Davis (Jennifer) and Gina Nevarez (Manuel) along with several nieces and nephews.

Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Davis family. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, September 29 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Church Assembly of God in Escalon. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to Trinity Church designated for the Escalon Youth Center.
