Fay Ruth Peterson, 80, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at home in Escalon surrounded by her loved ones.

Born Fay Ruth McDonald on May 20, 1933 in Mulberry, Arkansas to Cecil and Margaret McDonald, she has called Escalon her home for over 50 years.

She loved to spend time with her family and friends; she loved to go camping and taking her dog with her. When she was younger she was in a motorcycle club where she met lifelong friends. She could make any day brighter with her beautiful smile.  She loved being pampered and having her hair and nails done.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Arthur Harold Peterson; two daughters, Gale Carter of Modesto and Sheila Eiserer of Hollister; grandchildren Tiffany Avara-Davis of Turlock, Justin Avara of Riverbank, Derik Gulle of Belgrade, MT, Jaclyn Guille of Modesto and Holly Guille of Modesto; nine great-grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; 10 great nieces and nephews; and her brother, Richard “Mac” McDonald of Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Margaret McDonald and her sister, Irene McDonald.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel, 1441 San Joaquin St., Escalon. A chapel service will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 11:30 a.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be at Burwood Cemetery.
