Barbara Kathryn Witzke’s journey through life was completed Friday evening October 14, 2016 when she passed into the open arms of her God. Barbara graduated from Sacramento State College, Sacramento, with a degree in criminal justice. She worked in a private lab for several years but her calling was in the care of animals. She opened her own pet grooming shop where she cared for many dogs and cats. Barbara had many champion show dogs and in the recent past she was a judge at dog shows. She was a lifetime member of AKC as well as other dog clubs.
Barbara is survived by her mother Doris, her brother John, nephew John A. Witzke, his wife Bonnie and daughters Makena, Aubrey and Taylor and nephew Joseph Witzke, his wife Sara and son Hugh. Her brother William C. Witzke his wife May and children Robert, James, John, Tim, Joseph, David Jackson, Cindy Strom, Debbie Weaver and their families. Uncle Bill and Aunt June Luckman of Urbana, Ill. and her dog Abbie. She was preceded in death by her father William S. Witzke and sister-in-law Mickey Witzke.
