Volunteers, Diners Sought For Thanksgiving Dinner
Thanks

With Thanksgiving fast approaching, plans are in process for the free Community Thanksgiving Dinner, set for Thursday, Nov. 28.

Hosted on Thanksgiving Day, the free dinner will be served at the Escalon Community Center, corner of Escalon-Bellota and Arthur roads. Serving will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and all in the community are welcome to attend.

New coordinator for volunteers this year is Molly Craig, who said she is looking for workers to help put on the event. You can sign up online at goo.gl/AHPCSb or contact her at 415-310-1814. A variety of jobs need to be filled, from those that take orders at the tables to those dishing up the plates of freshly prepared food, to those serving pie and those doing the dishes.

For those unable to attend the dinner at the Community Center, home delivery of meals is offered. Coordinating the home delivery of meals once again is DeeAnna Jackson. She can be reached at 209-838-6808. Callers are asked to leave their name, address, phone number and how many meals are needed. Volunteers take the home delivered meals out on Thanksgiving and diners are also encouraged to come and share the holiday meal at the Community Center.

The goal has always been to make sure everyone in the community has access to a hot, fresh, traditional Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and all the trimmings – right down to the pumpkin pie for dessert – and that no one eats alone. Monetary donations are gratefully accepted but this is a free meal, with no cost to attend. Those that would like to make a donation can send it to Escalon Ministerial Association –Thanksgiving Dinner, P.O. Box 1, Escalon, CA 95320.
