Wrapping up a hectic summer, a lot of members from the Escalon 4-H showed all different species and other exhibits at the 2023 San Joaquin AgFest. The animals were dairy cattle, swine, market and breeding sheep, market and breeding goats and market beef and cavies and dogs. The non-animal exhibits were horticulture, welding projects.
The group also had a member show at the California State Fair in Sacramento in July.
AgFest results are as follows, with names and places listed as provided by club leaders.
Market Swine
Eran Williams- 1st place AOB light weight market class, 4th place in Yorkshire market class and participated in 4-H showmanship.
Ean Williams: 2nd place in Duroc light weight market class, 7th place light crossbred heavy weight market class and participated in 4-H showmanship.
Trenton Silva: 3rd place in market class and participated in showmanship.
All other swine exhibitors were market ready with their pigs.
Market Sheep
Mikayla Buck: 2nd place in market weight class, 1st place in 10-year-old 4-H showmanship.
Briley Silva: 1st place in market weight class, 1st place in 4-H showmanship.
Rebecca Wampler: 2nd place in market weight class, participated in showmanship.
Market Goats
Jameson Ferroni: 4-H Reserve Supreme Market Goat.
Luke Coelho: 5th place in market weight class, 3rd place in showmanship.
Brianne Coelho: placed well in market weight class.
Natalie Coelho: placed well in market weight class.
Peyton Stagno: Reserve Champion Lightweight Market Goat.
Kendall Anderson: 1st place in market weight class.
All other market goat exhibitors were market ready with their goats.

California State Fair 2023
Mikayla Buck: exhibited her Dorset Ewe and received 2nd place.
Dog Show: Mikayla got 3rd place in Rally, 2nd place in showmanship, 1st place in Obedience and High overall in Trial and, in a huge accomplishment at the state level, she won the Golden Bear.
