Escalon city officials are reminding local business owners that all business licenses in the city will expire on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021. Businesses must renew licenses by Jan. 30, 2022 to avoid penalties. For information regarding business licenses, either new or renewals, call 209-691-7422.

Also, beginning with the New Year, residents must be at least 67 years old or have been identified as permanently disabled to quality for the city’s Senior/Disabled Garbage Rate. This rate will apply only to the 60-gallon trash cans. Those eligible can sign up at City Hall; they should bring a copy of their driver’s license or disability award letter for verification purposes.

The new rate goes into effect on Jan. 1.

City Hall will be closed on Friday, Dec. 31 for the New Year’s Day observance; reopening for regular hours on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022.
