With more than 300 kids participating, the 2013 edition of Escalon’s Wing T training camp was a success, running on the campus of Escalon High School from Friday through Sunday.

Earlier in the week, younger players also got some high level instruction, attending a mini camp of their own from Monday through Wednesday.

Fundamentals of the Wing T offense are taught and players break out into groups to work on specific skills and drills. Escalon High varsity head coach Mark Loureiro has worked with Steve Verbit of Princeton University to bring the camp to Escalon for the last several years, helping build a foundation for success in the tough Trans-Valley League. Loureiro goes with the Wing T crew after the Escalon camp, to assist with a couple of clinics in Southern California, then heading back east for a series of three camps in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
