Edna V. (Reynolds) Alfieri, 89, of Ripon passed away on Monday, June 16, 2008 in Tulare.

She was born April 3, 1919 Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia.

A Ripon resident for 25 years, she had previously been of Escalon for 35 years.

Mrs. Alfieri was a war bride. She came to San Francisco to marry Sam Alfieri in 1946. She arrived by ship, was picked up by Sam and went straight to Reno, Nevada. They were married on Sept. 15, 1946. A quiet and unassuming person but with strength beyond belief, she left all her family and friends to travel half way around the world to start a new life and family.

Survivors include her children, Jim and Colleen Alfieri of Manteca, Angela and Anthony De Rose of Tulare, Mary and Dan Studt of Vancouver, WA; sister, Jean Fraser of Australia; her grandchildren, Brent and Kristy Alfieri of Oakland, Amanda and Brett Helppie of Ripon, Kristy and Paul Niedermuller of Broomfield, CO, Mike and Sandy De Rose of Turlock, David De Rose of Tulare, Katie and David Rocha of Tulare, Stacia Studt of Rome, Italy, Ryan Studt of Vancouver, WA; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Alfieri.

Rosary-Mass was Monday, June 23 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Escalon, burial followed at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to St. Anthony's Catholic School, 505 E. North St., Manteca, CA 95336.
