California Dairy Campaign President Joe Augusto and Executive Director Lynne McBride will lead the California delegation to the National Farmers Union Fly-In to Washington, D.C., in September.

The National Farmers Union is hosting its 2026 Fall Legislative Fly-In from Sept. 14 through 16 in Washington, D.C. A major focus of this event will be advocating for farm policy reforms to address low farm prices and high input costs.

The California delegation to the fall fly-in will speak directly with lawmakers and officials about the economic challenges that California farmers are currently facing. Engaging in these discussions about how policy reforms can improve the outlook for farms and communities, officials said, is a powerful message as lawmakers work on the next farm bill, tackle concentration in agricultural markets, reinstate country-of-origin labeling for beef, and address other key issues.

Hundreds of farmers are expected to attend this year’s events. Participants will hear from officials at the U.S. Department of Agriculture about current events, opportunities, and ongoing initiatives that support farmers. Additionally, they will receive briefings from White House officials and leadership and staff from the agriculture committees of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

The most critical agenda items for the fly-in are the meetings on Capitol Hill. Teams of Farmers Union members will visit the offices of every member of Congress to discuss key farm policy reforms.

Fly-in attendees will also gather with fellow family farmers and ranchers from across the country to learn from each other and advocate together.
