On Monday, May 25, Rep. Josh Harder (CA-09) delivered keynote addresses at a couple of Memorial Day events in the Central Valley, including the Not Forgotten Memorial Day event in Manteca, as well as ceremonies at the World War II Memorial and Veterans of Foreign Wars event in Stockton. Harder joined Valley active-duty servicemembers, veterans, and their families in honoring and remembering the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
“Memorial Day is more than an opportunity to support members of our military and honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice – this is an important reminder that we owe a debt of gratitude and service to those who gave everything to keep our country safe,” said Rep. Harder. “Ceremonies across the Valley today remind us how impactful their sacrifice continues to be, and I’m grateful for everyone who came out to show their support and remember those who could not be with us.”
California’s 9th Congressional District alone is home to nearly 30,000 veterans, and more than 160,000 active duty servicemembers call California their home. As a fifth-generation resident of the Valley whose grandfathers served in the armed forces, Harder works to ensure servicemembers, veterans, and their families have the resources and support they have earned.
Rep. Harder was joined by representatives from local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) posts, American Legion posts, and local elected officials at the Manteca and Stockton observances.
