Oak Grove Regional Park in Stockton has received 500 pounds of Rainbow Trout thanks to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. All are encouraged to come and do some fishing, enjoying some time in the outdoors.

Kids (no license necessary) fish for free; cost is $5 for those ages 16 and older and a valid CA fishing license is required. Parking is $5 weekdays, $6 on weekends/holidays.

Park visitors are asked to follow COVID-19 social distancing protocols; stay home if you have been exposed to the virus or are sick.

Located near Stockton’s Spanos Park West, the 180-acre Oak Grove Regional Park is at 4520 W. Eight Mile Road, Stockton, directly east of I-5 at Eight Mile Road.

Meanwhile, Micke Grove Zoo and the campgrounds at Dos Reis and Westgate Landing regional parks are closed due to the state’s COVID-19 stay-at-home order but most county parks remain open at this time.

Social gatherings are still prohibited at all San Joaquin County Parks due to COVID-19. Any gatherings must remain within a single household and all first-come, first-serve rules apply, including no tables or chairs, bounce houses, amplified sound, water apparatuses, trailer BBQ’s or generators.

Micke Grove and Oak Grove regional parks are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Day-use facilities at Dos Reis, Westgate Landing and Mossdale Crossing regional parks are available from 8 a.m. until 30 minutes before sunset. All playgrounds, along with Fun Town, Oak Grove Nature Center, Regional Sports Complex, Harmony Grove Church and Woodbridge Wilderness Area, remain closed.

Camping and day-use at Stillman Magee Regional Park remain closed. Rafters floating down the Mokelumne River can still disembark at Stillman Magee, as the parking area is available for loading and unloading from 8 a.m. to 30 minutes before sunset. Parking fees still apply ($5 weekdays, $6 weekends and most holidays and $10 special holidays).

Guests are advised to remain home if sick or unwell and practice social distancing to prevent COVID-19. Park closures may be reinstituted if social distancing protocols are not followed.
