On June 6-7 the Escalon Babe Ruth 9-10 All Star team entered a tournament at Big League Dreams in Manteca. The team was up against travel ball teams that play very competitively all year round. The first day was a learning experience as they lost 11-3 against the Modesto Eastlake Titans and 14-0 to the Patterson Amigos, who competed in the Nationals last year.

On day two, the Escalon All Stars came back ready to play. They beat the Titans 16-8, but unfortunately lost 9-3 to the Amigos.

On June 20-21 they entered their second warm up tournament against travel ball teams at Costa Fields in Ceres. They started off the day against the Oakdale Gold. After leading most of the game, it was a battle that ended up in a 2-2 tie. The second game they faced off against the Cen Cal Wranglers and once again led most of the game only to lose a heartbreaker 9-8. On day two, the 9-10 All Stars came out aggressive leading the entire game against the Bel Passi Reds, losing in the last two innings 8-7.

Finally, on June 28 the Escalon 9-10 All Star team began the Cal Ripken District 1 tournament. They faced the Ripon All Stars in the first game. After taking a 15-8 lead into the last two innings, the Escalon team ended up falling 19-15, sending them to the consolation bracket. On June 30 the team was back to face the All Stars out of Oakdale. After a close game of trading runs, the Escalon All Stars ended their hopes with an 8-5 loss.

The Escalon Babe Ruth 9-10 All Stars played inspiring baseball after putting in almost two months of practice and competing in nine games.

Manager Jerry Cosby and Coaches Will Cockrell and Joey Roche would like to thank all the players for their hard work and dedication. They would also like to thank all the parents who supported the team and made sacrifices for practice and games.
