Golfers Second In Match
In the latest Trans-Valley League contest for the Cougar golf boys, they played at Turlock Country Club in a meet hosted by Hilmar.
Six teams were on the links, with Ripon again taking top honors and Escalon finishing in second. Ripon carded the low score of 412 on the day, followed by Escalon at 471, Hughson 576, Livingston 580, Hilmar 589 and Riverbank no score.
TJ McNeil paced the effort with an 87, followed by Bryce McKenzie 92; Chris Vidales 94; Kaden Schrotenboer 97; Ben Millard 101.
Next tournament for the Cougars will be hosted by Livingston on Thursday, April 28 at Rancho Del Rey golf course in Atwater.
Wrestling Fundraiser
Tickets are on sale now for the 15th annual Escalon Wrestling Club Rib and Oyster Dinner and Dance. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 30 at the Escalon Community Center with happy hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by dinner from 6 pm. to 8 p.m.
A live auction is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. and then dancing will run from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are $55 in advance or $60 at the door. Menu for the evening will be baby back ribs, BBQ oysters, bread, salad, baked potato and a full bar.
