Time is running out to sign up for the upcoming youth soccer season, with registration for all levels closing on Friday, Aug. 6.
Player evaluations and a coach/parent clinic are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 7. The player evaluations will be on the grounds at Hogan Field, while the clinic will run from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Community Center. That session is mandatory for coaches and volunteers.
Fees for the soccer program include: $25 for Tots, three- and four-year-olds; $30 for Squirts, five- and six-year-olds; $35 each for the Pee Wee (7- to 8-year-olds) and Minors (9- to 10-year-olds); with a $40 cost for the Majors (11 and 12-year-olds) and Seniors (13 and 14-year-olds).
Divisions are based on participants age as of Dec. 1, 2004.
The youngest players, tots and squirts, do not participate in evaluations but will be assigned to a team for the upcoming season.
Pee Wee evaluations will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 7 with the Minors from noon to 1:30 p.m. Major evaluations are 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Seniors will be evaluated from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Player drafts are planned on Aug. 10, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for Pee Wee and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for Minors. The Major draft is Aug. 11, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Seniors drafted 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. that day.
League play will begin in early September. Tot Division will run five weeks during weekdays.
Coaches will contact parents one week prior to the season opening. If you do not hear from a coach, check the master roster at City Hall. Teams will be formed by Monday, Aug. 16. Players may move up one division with parent approval at registration.
