The El Portal Bowling league season wrapped up for the season in May.

The Flocking Flamingos ended the season as the first-place team and featured bowlers Stacy Lub, Kelly Homen and Robin Aufdermaur. Second place honors went to The Ringers, with team members Mary Sue Young, Sue Olivan and Luann Olny.

Individual award winners for the season included Dolores Bavaro, High Handicap Game; Tracy Marshall, High Scratch Series and High Average; Angel Frear, High Scratch Game. High Handicap Series was won by Stacy Lub and the Most Improved award went to Mary Panero.

Bowlers said they are already looking forward to next year and raising even more money for the El Portal Science Camp Fund. This year they donated $2000 to help offset expenses for students attending the camp.

The El Portal Bowling League started when El Portal Middle School in Escalon opened, with Barbara Reid serving as the club treasurer in 1971.
