School Physicals Night

The annual Sports Physicals Night is scheduled at Escalon High School for Tuesday, July 25. Hours for the event are 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and athletes planning to take part in any sport this coming year at EHS are encouraged to attend. Cost is $20 and the physical is good for the entire school year. Among those working the event will be representatives from Escalon Physical Medicine, the Escalon Health Clinic, Escalon Community Ambulance and EHS football trainer and OPTI physical therapy owner Travis Bartelink. Practices for high school football can get underway on Monday, July 31; all other fall sports can begin practices on Aug. 8.

 

Discover Scuba

Aquatic Discover Scuba has another summer class scheduled; sign up for the class now; the instruction will be on Saturday, July 29 at the Escalon High School pool. Cost is $15 and the class is for ages 10 and up. Class runs from 10 a.m. to noon; participants should bring a towel, swimsuit and sun screen to class. Sign up at the Recreation Department. Get an introduction to scuba diving through this affordable class. Escalon’s community pool is also still open for public swimming Monday through Friday through Aug. 4. Swimmers can stop by from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.; cost is $2 per day. Just a couple more weeks remain in the summer schedule.

 

Hospice Golf Tourney

Join Community Hospice Foundation on Sept. 18 at Del Rio Country Club as they host the 16th annual Golf Fore Community Hospice tournament to benefit the patients, families and programs of Community Hospice. Entry fee includes lunch and dinner, green fees and carts, polo shirt, hat and goody bag, awards ceremony with cash prizes, raffle, silent and live auctions.
