Continuing their strong, solid play in Trans-Valley League action, the Escalon golf boys earned two more wins this past week.

First, they took on Hughson at the Turlock Country Club on April 9, winning 237-259.

Leading the way was Nathan Sarkozy with a 43, followed by Dan Bava and Steve Gately, 47; Matt Spurgeon 48; James Wentzell 52; and Max Mello 59.

Thursday the boys were back on the road to face off with Hilmar and took a victory off the course against the Yellowjackets, 233-307.

Sarkozy and Bava each carded a 43 on the day, followed by Wentzell and Ian Gregg 47; Gately 53; Mello 58.

“Both days were very windy, so the coaches feel like we scored very well, under tough conditions,” said coach Ron Gutierrez.

The golfers are scheduled to host Riverbank on Thursday, April 18 at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club and then play in the Bulldog Invitational Tournament in Tracy on Monday, April 22.
