A new season has started for members of the El Portal Bowling League and they are looking for more bowlers to join them.

Any ladies interested can call McHenry Bowl in Modesto; the group bowls on Thursday mornings at 10 a.m.; Kelly Homen is president and RoseAnn Dugo serves as vice president.

The group raised $1,800 last season for the El Portal Science Camp, helping students attend the yearly event.

Results from last season also saw the Flocking Flamingos take first place with team members Kelly Homen, Stacy Lub and Robin Aufdermaur; second place honors went to the Escalon Body & Frame team featuring Elaine McGuire, Ginger Serpa and Connie Johnson.

Opening week action this season saw Val De Rose rolling to a 4-0 mark. They were followed by Morning Girls, Escalon Body, Flocking Flamingos and Elaine’s Travel at 3-1; Team 2 and Foxy Ladies at 1-3; V Leaguers, Pin Ups and Team 10 at 0-4.

Top scores were 181 scratch game, Joyce Hebert; 484 scratch series, Kelly Homen; 225 handicap game, Ginger Serpa and Julie Frost; 623 handicap series, Ginger Serpa.

Kelly Homen also has the individual high average for the season to date, at 161.33.
