On Monday, March 7 the Escalon varsity golf boys attended the Hilmar Golf Invitational hosted at Turlock Golf and Country Club. Cougar coach Dale Clayton said the competition included 22 high schools.

“The boys played well with a respectable eighth place even though their number one golfer (TJ McNeil) wasn’t able to attend,” explained Clayton. “We participated with five players of which four lowest scores counted on the 18-hole course.”

Escalon’s total score was 365 and included a great round of 79 for Kaden Schrotenboer, and a 94 for Bryce McKenzie, 95 for Jacob Dugo, 97 for Ben Millard and 120 for Chris Vidales.

The Cougars will hit the links several times this season and will play home matches at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club.
