Coaches Returning To Fall Sports Posts At Escalon
EHS COUGARS

The roster of coaches for the fall sports season at Escalon High School remains the same as last year. The 2019 fall coaching corps includes Andrew Beam as varsity head football coach, Brant Rose as head JV football coach and Joey Costa returning to lead the freshman football program. The varsity was involved in a number of 7-on-7 tournaments and had a successful summer, said Beam, who is preparing for his second year at the helm.

On the volleyball court, head varsity coach Teresa Williamson is back for another season, with Krystal Rodriguez at the JV level and Nicole Bianchi back with the freshmen. The volleyball squads practiced in multiple open gyms during the summer, prior to the ‘dead period’ enacted earlier this month and have been fine turning various parts of the game.

On the cross country course, longtime coach Rick Heflin returns to lead the Cougars and Kristie Cathcart will take the golf girls back on the links for the fall campaign. Also getting ready for another busy season are members of the Escalon cheerleading corps, with JV and varsity squads preparing routines and sideline cheers for the weekly football games.

“Football practice can start on Monday, July 29,” noted Nate Bartelink, EHS Athletic Director. “All the other sports can start back Monday, Aug. 5.”
