William George Dotinga, 61, of Oakdale, passed away of natural causes in Oakdale on Tuesday, May 6.

Known to his family as “Bill,” he was born on May 8, 1952, in Artesia, CA. His family moved to Ontario, CA, in 1959, where he graduated from Ontario Christian High School in 1970. His family moved to Oakdale, CA, in 1972. Bill lived in the Modesto area from that time on, where he attended MJC.

He worked various jobs in the agricultural industry, mostly as a ranch worker and also as a truck driver. Bill was part of a large family who loved and cherished him, including seven brothers and sisters and their spouses, almost 30 nephews and nieces and their families.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Caleb Cross and Rose Cross; and his siblings, Barbara Schwisow (Tulalip, WA), Joanne Ayotte (Riverside, CA), Sid Dotinga (Oakdale), Harriet Schaapman (Escalon), Henry Dotinga (Oakdale), and Tom Dotinga (Oakdale.)

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Laurie Panette; his wife, Cherie Sue Cross; his stepson, Chris Cross; his mother and father, Nancy and Joe Dotinga; and his sister, Janna Verhoeven.
