Walter Anton Bissiq, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 26 at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek from cancer.
He was born on Nov. 12, 1930 in Switzerland and became a citizen in the U.S. Army serving from 1952-1954.
Survivors include his wife Evonne, married for 50 years, and they have been residents of Lafayette for the past 11 years. He is also survived by his children, Mark Bissiq of San Ramon, Heidi Schonenberger of San Ramon, Anthony Bissiq of San Francisco and the foster son that he raised, Stuart Ledesma of San Francisco; three grandchildren Steven, Eric and Matthew, all of San Ramon.
