Tyler Wayne Hogg, 13, a student at El Portal Middle School in Escalon, passed away on Wednesday, July 30 due to an accident at home. He was born Dec. 1, 1994 and enjoyed his computer, fishing, motorcycles, basketball, baseball, being goofy, and he especially loved hanging out with his best friend Jacob Martinez.
He was very involved in Crossroads Grace Community Church in Manteca and was baptized there in December 2007. He also attended Bethany Baptist Church in Stockton.
Tyler is survived by his parents, Dawn and Shawn Gossen and Larry Hogg of Escalon; his sisters, Lauren Hogg and Tiffany Gossen of Escalon; his grandparents, Phyllis Castillo and Papa Les Baker of Ceres and Harl and Treva Gossen of Arnold; his aunts, Guilene McIntyre of Oakdale and Kristine Ferrell of Patterson; his uncle Rich Zurlinden of Modesto; his cousins Brent, Blake and Brittney Zurlinden, Briana Peters, Zach and Ashton McIntyre, and Tyler and Eric Mead.
Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Deegan Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will be on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel, 1441 San Joaquin St. in Escalon with burial following at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 East River Road in Escalon.
