Trijntje Veldstra, 94, passed away early Saturday, March 30.

She was born April 23, 1918, in Doezem, the Netherlands. She was the second of 10 children born to Lammert and Tjitske Prinsen. She married Steven Veldstra in 1942. They had nine children, six girls and three boys.

In 1961 they moved to California. They lived in Escalon and Modesto. After the death of her husband, she lived the remainder of her life in Ripon.

Survivors include her brother, Menco Prinsen in the Netherlands and eight children, Tjitske Mesker (Harmen) of Escalon, Marie Dykxhoorn (Tony) of Sonora, Janet Van Vliet (Arie, deceased) of Oakdale, Albert Veldstra (Marcia) of Papua New Guinea, Trudi Prevette of Modesto, Elly L (Don) of Modesto, daughter-in-law Martha Veldstra of Escalon, John Veldstra (Sandy) of Oakdale, Annie Hoekman Veldstra of Sacramento; 27 grandchildren; and 50 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Steven, son Lambert, and eight siblings.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She loved Jesus very much and her greatest desire was for all her children to go to heaven.

Remembrances may be made to Bethany Home, 930 W. Main St., Ripon.

Funeral services were Tuesday, April 9 at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon, followed by a service at the Christian Reformed Church in Escalon.
