Thurman Hawkins, 76, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012 in Hughson.

He was born on Feb. 20, 1936 in Waldron, Arkansas.

Mr. Hawkins was an auctioneer, and an original American picker. He was a jack of all trades. He loved to travel, and cherished those special moments with his wife on the open road. He was making new friends every day, everywhere he went.

Survivors include his children, Benjamin Candreia (Amber), Sandra Candreia-Luttrell (Eric), Carlene Singh, Ginder Lloyd (Phil), Tim Evans (Ellen), Norman Childress and Kenney Childress; grandchildren Tonya Byrne (Gerry), Jennifer Wenzloff (Brett), Jake Wenzloff (Bethany), Nicholas Candreia, Gavin Candreia, Alexander Castro, Kelly Farley (Curtis), Erin Barnes, David Bennett (Tammy), Lisa Elder (Matt), Heather Knudson (Monta), and Andrew Evans; his 20-plus great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Preston Hawkins, Johnnie Holloway, and Thelma Sanders.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 36 years, Virginia Lee Candreia; and his parents Thurman Preston Hawkins and Myrtle Ruth Harwell.

He will be remembered as a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
