In September 1962 they moved into town and resided there 43 years, where they served as church custodians at Escalon Christian Reformed Church for 25 years.

She also faithfully attended and participated in two ladies Bible studies. In 1963 she organized and then also directed Daily Vacation Bible School for several years at Escalon CRC. She and her husband sang in the "Messiah" for more than 25 years. She treasured beautiful music and provided for her children's piano and organ lessons by cleaning homes. She enjoyed reading, writing to pen pals and bike riding.

She took great delight in watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up, achieve, and serve the Lord.
