Stanley Michael Laugero, born July 1, 1943, peacefully passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 in Pleasanton, CA, at the age of 76.
Born and raised in Escalon, Stan was well known as a standout multi-sport athlete at Escalon High School. He spent much of his early adult life supporting the local community in many ways. He was a member and president of the Escalon Unified School District Board of Education (1979-1985), president of the Escalon Lions Club (1979-1980), president of the Chamber of Commerce (1980-1981) and member of the City of Escalon Recreation Commission (1980-1982). It was during these years that many will remember him as a coach in the local Babe Ruth league as well as several American Legion baseball teams. Always the dedicated coach and teacher, he spent his final years living in Livermore where he was a local golf instructor, passing on his love of the game to others.
Always proud of his family, Stan is survived by three sons; Greg (Pam), Jeff (Irene), and Steve (Celia), four grandchildren; Jordan Borba (Greg), Taylor Laugero, Logan Laugero and Max Laugero, one great grandchild; Luke Borba, and his brother; Douglas Laugero (Judy). He is preceded in death by his older sister; Shirley Knox Laugero and parents; Alfred and Minnie Laugero.
Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Laugero family. A graveside service will be held at St. Patrick’s Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 14. All are welcome to attend.
