Sheri (Shirley) J. Hendricks White Hallinan Zimmerman, formerly of Oakdale, died Monday, Dec. 10.

She graduated from Oakdale High School where she was a majorette and then attended Modesto Junior College.

She had careers in the legal field and mutual fund industry, then retired to the Long Beach/Seal Beach area.

Ms. Zimmerman was an avid golfer who also enjoyed line dancing, entertaining, reading, and travel, but her passion was helping others. She served many years as a volunteer for the Leukemia Society of Northern California Redwood Hospital District, chairperson for Walk America for March of Dimes Northern California Chapter, and with the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet White (Phillip) Conley of Cleveland, Tenn.; adopted daughter, Deanna Shebley (Mike) Dorner of San Jose; sisters, Ruby (Leon) Holly of Escalon, Pat (Bill) DeBerry of Modesto; one granddaughter; and several loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Allen White; sister, Wilma Hendricks Inglet Chaney; brother, Kenneth Charles Hendricks; mother, Annie Lee Elizabeth Treat Hendricks; father, James Stuart Hendricks; grandmother, Cynthia America Montgomery Treat and grandfather, George Washington Treat.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at Ceres Memorial Park at 1801 E. Whitmore Ave., Ceres.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.
