Russell James (Jamie) LaRossa
December 16, 1965 – January 22, 2015
Jamie LaRossa was born on December 16, 1965 and passed away on January 22, 2015, at the age of 49. Jamie was born in Stockton and raised in Linden, CA.
He was a three-sport athlete at Linden High School and graduated with a degree in Business from Fresno State in 1989.
He married Michelle Chaffee that same year and they decided to plant their roots in Escalon, CA. They have three beautiful children, Taylor (21), Logan (19), and Anthony (14). Jamie was very involved in his children’s lives, and was a proud coach of over 30 Escalon Recreation sports teams. His love for the game was evident in all he did.
Most of all, he was a devoted father, husband, son, and brother. He made a point of living life to the fullest each day and his enthusiasm for traveling, sports, and family led to many memorable vacations. His dream to visit all 30 Major League Baseball Stadiums was being fulfilled with his family. Jamie and his family were able to reach 21 stadiums, and made life long memories along the way. Jamie led a life of laughter and love, especially when it came to his wife. Jamie and Michelle were high school sweethearts and recently celebrated 25 years of marriage. Jamie spent his life working in the Flooring Industry. He was a hard worker and a trusted and valued employee. Jamie was a loyal friend and co-worker, who had a quiet way of getting things done without expecting anything in return. In addition to his wife and children, Jamie is survived by many loving relatives and friends including: his father Louis LaRossa Sr. (Joyce); mother Geraldine Canevari; brother Louis, and sisters Margaret and Patty (Carlos Lopez). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 30th at 11:00am in the Escalon Covenant Church @ 1155 McHenry Ave. Escalon, CA. A visitation at Deegan Funeral Chapel will be the day prior (Thursday, January 29th) at 1441 San Joaquin St. Escalon, CA from 4:00-7:00pm. All family and friends who shared a part of their life with him are welcome to attend either service. Following the celebration of life, there will be a reception at the Escalon Community Center from 12:30-4:00pm @ 1055 Escalon Ave, adjacent to the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a Jamie LaRossa Memorial Scholarship Fund at Bank of the West in Escalon and Farmers and Merchants Bank in Linden.
