Rose Adeline Blanco, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 13 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Crows Landing on Feb. 27, 1930 to Joseph and Emily Pacheco and graduated from Patterson High School in 1947. In 1953 she married her beloved husband Stephen Blanco and moved to Escalon where she resided for the remainder of her life.

Rose enjoyed a 25-year career with the US Postal Service. In her retirement years she and her family enjoyed traveling extensively to destinations such as Hong Kong, Ireland, Portugal and the Caribbean.

She also held membership in numerous clubs including the Ghost Riders Motorhome Club, the Red Hat Society, Cabrillo Civic Club, and the YLI of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Survivors included

She is survived by her children, Bob Blanco and his wife Michelle of Atwater, Cathy Scott and her husband Ray, Shirley Hoover and her husband Ron, Tom Blanco and his wife Estela, and Sharon Caldwell and her husband Steve, all of Escalon; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stephen, sister Mabel and brother Joe.

A rosary service was held on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the funeral will be held at the church on Highway 120 at Carrolton Road on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at noon.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356 or The Stephen and Rose Blanco Memorial Scholarship Fund, which benefits Escalon High School athletes, in care of Guaranty Bank, Escalon Branch at 3380 McHenry Avenue, Escalon, CA 95320.
