Robert Lease, Jr.

Robert Brent Lease Jr., 61, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 28 in Jamestown.

He was born in Escalon on Jan. 29, 1947 to Robert Brent Lease, Sr. and Dena Lease. He attended Dent Elementary School and graduated from Escalon High School in 1964.

He loved sports and was an all around athlete. He was chosen best male athlete by his High School graduating class. 'Bob' continued playing in city basketball leagues for many years. He refereed basketball while in the military and in city leagues in Manteca and Escalon. He sponsored and coached many youth baseball teams in Escalon.

He served four years in the military during the Vietnam War and was buried with military honors.

Mr. Lease was a meat cutter by profession, attending meat cutting school in Ohio after high school. He took great pride in his work and became a master meat cutter.

He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his son, Justin Robert Lease of Susanville; his father Robert Brent Lease Sr. of Escalon; brother Douglas K. (Jan) Lease of Janesville; nephews Nathaniel Lease of Fremont and Thaddeus Lease of Oakdale; Uncle Clifton Lease of Ripon; and Aunt Lorraine Robertson of Modesto.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dena Lease.

Funeral services were on Monday, Oct. 6 at Saron Lutheran Church in Escalon with his burial following at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon.

Memorial donations may be made to Cancer Research.
