Nancy "Nienke" Boschma Dotinga, 79, passed away on Monday, Dec. 10 at her home in Oakdale.

She was born on June 3, 1928 in Sybrandaburen, Friesland, the Netherlands. After six years of courtship on account of post WWII conditions, she married Joe Dotinga on April 27, 1950. They immigrated to California, USA in November 1951. She was a member of Escalon CRC and taught Sunday school for a number of years.

Mrs. Dotinga loved deeply and cared very much for Joe, her children, grandchildren, relatives and friends in the USA, Canada, and the Netherlands. She taught all to love the Lord through her unshakeable faith in God's promises and her confidence that her Redeemer lives.

She is survived by one sister: Patricia; four brothers, Harold (Dorothy), Thomas (Telma), Albert, and Edward (Mieke); eight children, Janna, William, Barbara (Larry), Joanne (Brent), Sidney (Cynthia), Harriet (David), Henry (Diana), and Thomas (Sandra); 29 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Johanna; two brothers, Henry (Greta) and Gerber (Jennie); two brothers-in-law, John and Koop, and a daughter-in-law Cherrie; and two grandchildren, Christopher Dotinga and Christopher Brinkley.

Graveside service was held at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon on Friday, Dec. 14 with a church funeral service at Escalon Christian Reformed Church on Friday, Dec. 14 at 2 pm.

Deegan Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
