Monty Vander Beek, 70, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013.
He was born on Nov. 1, 1942.
Monty grew up in Escalon, graduating from Escalon High School and continued to live his adult life here where he became a very active member of the community. He was a well-known and respected Insurance Broker who served his clients well. He loved to meet with them and always had an idea how to make things better. He was often described as a unique individual.
Mr. Vander Beek owned his own insurance company, Vander Beek Insurance, and ran the business with all of his heart and soul.
He was also an active member of the Lions Club, they were to him his second family. His spare time was often working on projects for the Lions Club or travelling the world.
He impacted many people and will be missed.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Vander Beek; his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Sportsman’s Club in Escalon.
