Mary C. Rossi, 87, of Ripon passed away on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 in Lynden, Washington.

She was born on July 16, 1925 in Brooklyn, New York, to Charles and Josephine Bonanno. Mary graduated in 1943 from Straubennuller Textile High School, Brooklyn, NY. She moved to Ripon, CA, in 1971.

Mary had many interests which included her grandchildren, teddy bears, Tweety Bird and a vast collection of over 1,000 salt and pepper shakers. She also enjoyed antiques and sewing. Mary loved to add sparkle and pizzazz to otherwise plain shirts and blouses. She loved meeting new people, and everyone became her friend.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph (Marci) Rossi of Manteca and Charles (Laurel) Rossi of Everson, WA; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack J. Rossi, whom she married on Oct. 25, 1947 in New York.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 4 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon.

Services will be Friday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ripon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or Whatcom Hospice Foundation, 2806 Douglas Ave., Bellingham, WA 98225.
