Mary Adrian K

Mary Joy Adrian, 81, a former and longtime resident of Escalon, CA passed away on July 11, 2016 in Modesto from Alzheimer’s Disease. Mary was born in Berkeley, CA on November 10, 1934 to Ruth Agnes Baymiller and Clyde Chester Baymiller. Mary attended Escalon High School and went on to obtain her nursing degree.  Mary married Philip Raymond Adrian on July 22, 1956. She had a short nursing career, choosing instead to become a farm wife helping Phil with the raising of chickens, peaches, almonds and walnuts. Mary was an easy going and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She loved life and she loved to laugh.

She was an avid gardener and knew the botanical names and culture of every plant. Mary was an active member of Saron Lutheran Church and spent many years singing in the church choir. Mary also loved to read and chances are if you couldn’t find Mary that she would be tucked away reading a good book or in her garden. Mary loved Christmas and made it a very special time for all to enjoy. Mary will be greatly missed by her two children; Cindy Murphy (Jon) of Washoe Valley, NV and Marty Adrian (Diana) of Oakdale, CA and by her grandchildren; Tracy Falcone (Jeff), Danny Murphy (Jenny), Joseph Adrian (Jessica), and Thomas Adrian. Mary was also blessed with four great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Philip Adrian in 2011. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Pacifica Senior Living in Modesto. Private services will be held.
