Lottie “Era” Ney, 93, passed away on Thursday, May 15 in Ripon.

She was born on July 29, 1920, to Mary and Elbert Harris in Laran, La. She was the last of 10 children. Lottie moved to Escalon in her early 20’s and attended a dance in Oakdale where she met Bob Ney. They were married soon after in Las Vegas, where they lived for a short time before returning to Escalon.

They were married for 49 years and raised three children. Family was the most important thing to Lottie. She always had a house full of friends and family. She also enjoyed baking, sewing, and traveling to family reunions in Texas and Arkansas.

Survivors include her three children, Linda Ney, Robert Ney, and Ronnie Ney; her five grandchildren, Russell Reichenberg, Jeff Reichenberg, Dawn Campbell, Amie Conde, and Ryan Ney; and her great grandchildren, Allison Reichenberg, Maddie Nicholas, Erin Reichenberg, Gannon Campbell, Justin Campbell, and Ashlee Conde.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, in 1996.

She will be lovingly remembered for providing a home where all were welcome.
