Joseph Anton Dubacher, 94, of Escalon died Tuesday, March 8 at his home in Escalon. He was born March 10, 1910 in San Francisco and had lived in Escalon for 87 years.

He owned both the Valley Inn and Escalon Club, as well as other various businesses in Escalon. He was a member of the Swiss Club, Escalon Sportsmans Club, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.

He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen D. Cornwell of Danville and two grandsons, Brian Cornwell of Roseville and Eric Cornwell of Scottsdale, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Dubacher, 10 years ago; daughter, Paula Dubacher in 1972 and son Gary Dubacher in 1979.

Memorial Mass was said Saturday, March 12 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Private burial at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held previously.
