John Joseph Mostowski, age 91, passed away December 26, 2020 with his wife (Dee), by his side.
John taught vocational agriculture from 1957 until 1969. During that time he was very involved with the FFA guiding many teams to local, state, and national awards. He also founded the Escalon Chapter for the Young Farmers Association. He took a position as assistant to the superintendent in 1969 and retired in 1988 after 31 years with Escalon Unified School District.
Following retirement, he became involved with the San Joaquin Sheriffs Team of Active Retired Seniors (STARS). He was captain of the volunteer training program from 1994 to 2010.
John is survived by his wife, Dee Mostowski, his children: Sheila Mostowski, Dr. Ronald J. Mostowski, D.C. (Sue), and Cheryl Johnson (Rick), his grandchildren: Mitchell (Kristin) and Kyle (Katie) Mostowski, and Eric and Janell Johnson along with six great grandchildren; Karlie, Eme, Mia, Kellie, Kiera and Wyatt.
Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Mostowski family. Due to current restrictions, a celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. Memorials in John’s memory may be made to Escalon Presbyterian Church Building Fund, Escalon Community Ambulance and or Community Hospice.
